The Cookie Cab  was first conceived as a “ warm to your door” delivery service of cookies. It quickly evolved into what is now a store front bakery/cafe which offers free delivery. Built on the idea of “pay it forward”, old friends and new friends invested small sums of money that we continue to reinvest as we grow. We began with a small selection of jumbo cookies. Classics such as Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Sugar and Oatmeal Raisin formed the foundation of what was to explode into a very exciting venture into baking that includes specialty cookies, scones babkas, & pastries.

I am Helen Harris, owner & baker of The Cookie Cab. Truthfully, I am not a baker, I am an artist (www.helenharrispaintings.com) who happens to be very creative with recipes. Guided by the business sense and daredevil risk taking of my life partner, Kim, The Cookie Cab is succeeding and growing. Adding our sandwich chef, Eugene, has helped round out the cafe idea and our hearty breakfast and hand-carved lunch sandwiches are popular in Downtown Toms River, NJ.

Gourmet coffee, teas, milkshakes and sodas added to a delicious selection of cookies, make The Cookie Cab a place to visit for a breakfast, lunch or snack time. It is a “place where everybody knows your name.” The warm and friendly service encourages our customers to return again and again.  

Local high school students benefit from our ”kid fund”. All change donated from customers to this fund is returned to the kids by buying cookies and sodas for those that are a little short on cash or don’t have the tax. Since we opened on Halloween 2009 we’ve paid out over $800.00 to this fund.

We now offer gourmet cupcakes and custom made cakes brought to you by Adam, further expanding upon the already extensive list of Helen's creations. This fine selection of baked goods are perfect for that next party, event or special occasion.

The Cookie Cab Gallery is an additional way that we have found to “pay it forward.” The wall space at The Cookie Cab  is  devoted to the support of local artist showcasing current work.  As a full time working artist, this is my way of supporting my tribe of artists with whom I continue to associate. Space is free, by my invitation, and all art work is for sale with no commission.
